The drugstore has been on fire lately with the new releases! All the major brands have been coming out with new stuff and there have been a few items to pique my interest. I initially planned on separately reviewing all the items I picked up, but I decided to put them together in the form of a video because it was easier for me and I figured it may be more helpful for you! Don’t worry, I will eventually get back to writing blog posts independent of my videos, but for now I hope you enjoy the videos!
Have you checked out any of the new drugstore releases? Were they hits or misses?
I know I’ve been promising this Battle of the Brands for such a long time, but I’m finally getting it done now! Today’s post will compare the Loreal Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stains to the YSL Glossy Stains. These products are both supposed to look glossy like lip gloss, but provide the color of sheer lipstick and the lasting power of a stain. Unlike other lip stains, these are supposed to stay glossy the entire time, they don’t dry down to a matte finish. The YSL version came first followed by the Loreal (which is a parent company of YSL Beauty) version. Keep reading to see which version wins this battle!
Loreal recently came out with a new huge line of nail polishes, the Loreal Extraordinaire Gel-Lacque. It comes as a 3 step system that is designed to give you the long lasting shiny finish of a manicure with a gel system, but without the hassle of UV lamps and soaking off the polish. As soon as I saw the display, I was excited because I immediately wondered if they were as good as the Formula X for Sephora system (review here). Keep reading to see if they live up to the claims!
Loreal recently released 2 new types of lipstick, the LaLaque and the LeMatte. These new lip products are thinner than the average jumbo lip pencil and are pretty much the size of a crayon. The LaLaque range is a shiny, pigmented lip color. While the LeMatte range is a matte version. They released a total of 8 shades (4 of each), and I purchased 6 of them. Keep reading for my thoughts and lip swatches!
This is the final post within my Highlighter/Bronzer Series! If you missed any of the previous ones, don’t worry, I will list them at the bottom of this post. I hope this series was enjoyable to you and that you got something out of it.
Today’s face is a look that I wear quite often, especially during summertime. It is relatively quick and easy and perfect for all types of occasions. Keep reading for more pictures and a step-by-step tutorial.
I’ve been interested in this product for a little while now and I finally decided to give it a try when I came across it on sale. The Loreal Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother is designed to “erase the look of wrinkles, lines, & pores” and protect skin from the sun (SPF 30). Keep reading if you would like to know how it measures up to those claims.
I admit it, I’m a sucker for packaging. This beautiful bottle is the main thing that drew me to this foundation. I know that’s terrible, but it’s true! If you want to know my first impressions of this product, keep reading!
Mascaras are very personal. Everyone tends to want different things from their mascara. For that reason, I really hesitated on doing this post. However, when I thought about how I felt the first time that I applied this mascara, I knew I couldn’t keep it a secret. Keep reading for my thoughts and pictures!
Whenever I am looking for a new foundation, it is always hard for me to find people of my color and skin type online. Today’s post will be showing the foundations that I own so you can see how the shades compare side by side. Also, I’ll be doing a brief review of each one. Hopefully this post can help you if you are on the market for a new foundation. Keep reading to find out more!
Today’s nail of the day post features 2 polishes; The Perfect Trench by Loreal and West End Wonderland by Butter London.
The Perfect Trench is the perfect mustard yellow. Mustard is one of those colors that most people don’t think about when it comes to nail polish, but I personally love it. It is subdued enough to be considered a neutral, but it still adds a little excitement to the nails. Also, this shade reminds me of Fall. This shade did go on slightly streaky, but it leveled itself out with the second coat.
West End Wonderland is the glittery goodness that I used on my other nails and I really like this one as well. I was able to get relative opaqueness using 2 coats, which is pretty good for a glitter polish. Butter London nail polishes are pretty expensive, but I got a great deal on this one (and 2 others) on a new site called coterie.com that features flash sales.
Overall, I was very happy with the way my nails turned out and I would definitely recommend both of these shades.
Are you willing to give mustard colored nails a try? What shades are you excited about for Fall?
