A Little Time Off….

Hello Friends! I just wanted to do a little post to let you know that I will be taking a little break from the blog and YouTube for about a week. Therefore I will not be posting any new material and may be a little slow responding to comments. As you may already know, my husband and I have been getting a house built for quite some time now and it is finally almost done! Thank God! This week I will be doing all sorts of things to prepare for my move and get our current house ready for renters. Unfortunately that leaves no time for blog posts! I hope you understand. While I’m gone, feel free to check out some of my archived posts! Talk to you soon!

Budget Beauty: E.L.F. Baked Eyeshadows

E.L.F. products can be extremely hit or miss for me, especially their eyeshadows. If you have ever purchased one of their 100 pan eyeshadow palettes, then I’m sure you know what I mean. Recently, they released these new baked eyeshadows and blushes. I saw the shadows in Target, so I decided to pick up 2 to try out. Keep reading for my thoughts on them!

Tip Tuesday #14: Fix Your Broken Powders

I absolutely hate when I drop a makeup product and the product shatters. Unfortunately that has happened to me on more than one occasion. Today’s Tip Tuesday post is about fixing a broken powder product such as an eyeshadow or blush. I just recently tried this for the first time, so I thought I would share it with you. Keep reading if you are interested in seeing what I did!

Update! I Made an Error!

This is just a really quick post because I just realized that I made a huge mistake on one of my previous posts. My review on the NARS Dragon Girl Velvet Matte Lip Pencil listed the price as $34, when it should have been $24. I’m very sorry and I hope I didn’t discourage any of you who may have been thinking about getting it. I have corrected the pricing now.

Thanks for understanding!

Tip Tuesday Update

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you may have noticed that I missed last week’s Tip Tuesday. I decided that I will no longer be doing Tip Tuesday every Tuesday, only some Tuesdays. I came to this decision because some of my Tip Tuesday posts were really starting to feel like work when I didn’t have a topic readily available to talk about. I write this blog because I enjoy it, therefore, it should never feel like work. Don’t fret though, Tip Tuesday is definitely not going away!

Thanks for your continuing support!

Tip Tuesday #13: Balance Your Face

Sometimes when you are starting out experimenting with makeup, it can be quite confusing to know what colors should be paired together. For example, should you wear a pink blush with a red lip?

Tip Tuesday #12: Find Your Most Flattering Lipstick Shade

I just found out about this cool website that helps you figure out your best lipstick color choices. YouBeauty is a website associated with Dr. Oz that has a lot of quizzes that you can take to help you find your “perfect” lipstick, eyeshadow, etc. The whole site is based on the “science of beauty.”

I took the lipstick quiz (click HERE to take it), and my perfect bold shade was watermelon and my perfect nude shade was dusty rose. In addition to the color family, they also give a few recommendations on particular products and provide solutions for problems you identified during the quiz. I think the site is fun and interesting!

Did you take the Lipstick Quiz? What were your ideal colors?
