Today’s nail of the day is very appropriate for the holiday season. The color is Modern Romance by Essence and the accent nail is Millionaire by Nailtini. I really like this combination. I used 2 coats for each of the polishes and a top coat. I probably should have done another coat of Modern Romance, because if you look closely you should be able to see that it is not completely opaque. However, I was being lazy and decided to stick with 2. I also really like the brush on this polish. It is fat and rounded that makes it quicker and easier to apply to the nail.
I love this nail polish! This is Fast Track by China Glaze. It has a base champagne color with gold micro glitter dispersed throughout. I think the contrast of the cool champagne with the warm gold glitter is really flattering. Also, it is neutral enough for everyday, but the glitter makes it a little fun too! This shade is not too thick or thin and is opaque with 2 coats. What makes it even better is that I got it on clearance! (Check out my video here to see the other clearance shades I got that same day).
I really like this shade of nail polish! Today’s Nail of the Day is Through the Grapevine by Wet n Wild. It is a true magenta that would look great on all skintones. Not only is the color gorgeous, but these polishes are a breeze to work with. I have tried several shades and they all are pretty opaque and apply easily. Also, they come with a wide brush that makes it quicker to polish the nails. My only complaint is that the bottles break easily when dropped. I have broken at least 2 of these. For me, that isn’t a huge complaint since these polishes cost less than $3.
Have you tried any of the Wet n’ Wild Megalast polishes? What are your favorite shades?
Today’s nail of the day post features 2 polishes; The Perfect Trench by Loreal and West End Wonderland by Butter London.
The Perfect Trench is the perfect mustard yellow. Mustard is one of those colors that most people don’t think about when it comes to nail polish, but I personally love it. It is subdued enough to be considered a neutral, but it still adds a little excitement to the nails. Also, this shade reminds me of Fall. This shade did go on slightly streaky, but it leveled itself out with the second coat.
West End Wonderland is the glittery goodness that I used on my other nails and I really like this one as well. I was able to get relative opaqueness using 2 coats, which is pretty good for a glitter polish. Butter London nail polishes are pretty expensive, but I got a great deal on this one (and 2 others) on a new site called coterie.com that features flash sales.
Overall, I was very happy with the way my nails turned out and I would definitely recommend both of these shades.
Are you willing to give mustard colored nails a try? What shades are you excited about for Fall?
It’s been awhile since my last post, sorry about that! I’ve had some things going on in my personal life that made me not feel like blogging, but I’m back now! I decided to ease my way into things with a Nail of the Day post. Today’s nail polish is Kalahari Kiss by China Glaze. It is limited edition and came out with one of their fall lines. At this time, it is still available in stores.
In my opinion, this is a very unique shade. At first glance it might look like just another nude, but in different lights, it looks different. It tends to lean olive greeen or mustard yellow, I can’t decide which one more. The formula of this shade was very nice, not thick or thin. Sometimes I find China Glaze polishes to be slightly thick, but this one was perfect. The color was also relatively opaque and I used 2 coats. Overall, I do like the polish, but it is not my favorite. The shade is just a little strange. I do think it would make a great base for a gold or silver glitter top coat and it also is a nice fall nude.
What do you think of this shade? Do you have a go-to nude polish for fall?
It’s almost the end of summer so I have been trying to get the last few uses out of my super bright nail polishes before fall hits. China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy is a super bright neon pink with a hint of orange. This shade screams summer! I know this color shows up pretty bright in the picture, but it is even brighter in real life. I love the color of this polish. This is the first time I have worn it on my fingernails and right after I started polishing, I realized why. This took me 3 coats to get completely opaque. Also, because this is a neon, it has a matte finish which I personally am not a fan of. The picture above is shown with a top coat. The other downside of this polish is that it chipped within 24 hours (with a good base and top coat)! In my book, that is totally unacceptable, especially since I didn’t do anything that would normally make my polish chip. I will continue to wear this on my toes, but this is probably the last time it will touch my fingertips.
Have you tried Flip Flop Fantasy? Did you have a similar experience to mine?
Who knew Pepto-Bismol pink could be so cute? Essie Cascade Cool is like the perfect blend of pink and purple. It stands out enough to get noticed, but its still office appropiate. Right now, I have this on my fingers and toes and I don’t want to take it off. The formula of this shade was nice, maybe slightly runny, but nothing too bothersome. The picture above is 2 coats and a top coat.
With all the rain we have been having in my area, I wanted my own little touch of sunshine. My sunshine came in the form of a nail polish, Cheeky Chops by Butter London. In the bottle, this looks like the perfect bright yellow. Unfortunately, this polish did not live up to my expectations.
I love this color! China Glaze Peachy Keen is the perfect creamy peach nail polish shade. It is the only true peach nail polish I own. As with most of China Glaze’s polishes, this one is a little thick, but not overly so. It requires only 2 coats for full opacity. The only downfall is that for me, this is a little hard to apply because it is on the thicker side and initially it looks streaky. This shade is definitely in my top 3 favorite nail polishes in my collection.
Have you tried Peachy Keen? Do you know of any dupes?
