I know I’ve been MIA and I’m sorry! The truth is I want to post more, but I have so much to do for my new home that it is taking up all of my free time. As we speak, I’m still surrounded by boxes! So, it may be a little while before I’m able to post regularly again, but I hope you understand. Anyway, this week I tried the new Sally Hansen Miracle Gel System in Pink Cadillaquer. Keep reading to find out if it was a hit or miss!
I absolutely love this nail polish! It is such a bright (almost neon) pink, but has that purple undertone that makes it a little more unique. Relentless also performs as well as all the other Formula X for Sephora shades that I’ve tried (review HERE). I can’t wait to wear this more throughout the summer and spring!
What nail polish are you excited about pulling out for the warmer months?
In my last Nail of the Day post, I featured one of the new Formula X for Sephora nail polishes and I promised a review soon, so here it is. This review is not for a single nail color, but for the 4 step system that they sell as a package deal for $32. The 4 step system is comprised of a Nail Cleanser, Base Coat, Nail Color of your choice, and Top Coat. Sephora promises a flawless, long-lasting manicure if all 4 steps are taken. So is it all just a hoax? Keep reading to find out!
Today’s Nail of the Day features Formula X for Sephora in Impeccable and Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics in Copperhead. Usually on Nail of the Day posts, I only show the bottle of the main polish color. In today’s post, I wanted to show both bottles because Copperhead is just too pretty to keep from you! Essie’s Butler Please is a beautiful shade of royal blue! Unfortunately, it is not the easiest to work with. The first coat went on very streaky and uneven. Also, when I tried to even it out it kind of bunched up! Fortunately the second coat helped to smooth things out a bit. I’ve never experienced this with Essie polishes, so I’m not sure if I got a bad one or this shade is just like that. Nevertheless, I love the way it looks on my fingertips!
It’s been ages since my last Nail of the Day post! Mainly because while on I was on my low-buy for the last couple of months, I really hadn’t been purchasing any nail polish. I also have not been polishing my nails consistently. Anyway, today’s shade is an oldie but goodie, Tart Deco by Essie. This is a coral shade with a mix of pink and orange. I love colors like this and the formula is a dream! I know it’s supposedly the end of summer, but I’m not ready to pull out the dark colors yet. This color is a definite spring/summer staple!
A couple of weeks ago, I did a post on Essie’s First Timer nail polish from their Resort Collection. Today’s nails are also from that same collection, but this one is called In the Cab-ana. Excuse my poor paint job, I was rushing. Poor paint job aside, isn’t this a gorgeous color! It is like a cross between aqua and turquoise blue. I don’t have any other colors like this in my collection. This shade makes me want to lie out on a tropical island with my hubby, a good book, and a Mai-Tai. (Isn’t that what summer’s all about?) This shade also lasted about 3 work days on me without chipping (which for me is saying a lot).
It’s been awhile, I know! Sorry for my little leave of absence, I had a death in the family and traveled a little bit. I am back now, so I promise I will make up for it!
Today’s nail of the day is a beauty. Essie’s First Timer is part of their Resort Collection which they usually release every year around this time. I absolutely love this color! It is definitely a bright green, but it has turquoise undertones, making it different than any other polish I own. Upon first seeing it, I thought it was similar to Essie Mojito Madness (click HERE to see), but this is lighter, brighter, and more blue. I personally really like Essie’s formula, and this one was no exception. It applied well and wore for a few days before chipping. I also purchased In the Cabana from this collection, but I haven’t tried it yet. When I do, I’ll be sure to post a picture here on the blog or on Instagram (username: SimpleBeautyYT).
I know that it has been awhile since my last Nail of the Day post, but I have really just been sticking to what I know in terms of nail polish. The few new shades that I have tried, were either too boring, not pretty enough, or I never got a chance to take pictures of before they chipped. Anyway, today’s nail is Coral Reef and it is apart of the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Line. This is not a new shade for me, but it is one that I love. It is the prettiest bright pinky coral that applies nicely and wears a decent amount of time. The picture above is on my 3rd day of wearing this polish and I think that it held up pretty nicely. With Spring right around the corner, I wanted to get back into some brighter colors.
Today’s nail of the day is Smile for the Glam-era by Nicole by OPI. It is apart of the Kardashian collection. This shade is very unique. It is a blackened purple base with magenta and silver micro glitter. At first glance, it looks almost black, but in the sun the shimmer is really apparent. This applied pretty opaquely, the picture shown is of 2 coats. Unlike a lot of other dark nail polishes that I have tried, this went on very easily and smoothly. It wasn’t streaky at all. I think this shade is a winner, and definitely a nice pick for this time of year.
