Sol de Janeiro recently released their first perfume, Sol Cheirosa ’62. If you have been a long time follower, you may know that I love the scent of their Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. Well guess what? This perfume has the same scent, so therefore I had to pick it up! Keep reading to see what I think!
In Brazil, the word cheirosa means “that you smell incredibly delicious”! If you have ever smelled the extremely popular Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, then you know that cheirosa is the perfect term to describe it. The new perfume, Cheirosa ’62 smells exactly like the Bum Bum Cream.
salted caramel, pistachio, jasmine petals, vanilla
There are only 4 notes listed for this fragrance, and I really only smell 3 of them–the caramel, pistachio, and vanilla. This scent is utterly delicious! It is warm and sweet, but not overpowering. Looking at the notes alone, you may think that this is too heavy for the heat of summer, but I actually think it shines in the warmer months! I have owned the body spray of this fragrance for quite awhile, and I generally reserve it for bedtime or days at the beach/pool. Now that I have the actual perfume, I plan to wear it on those hot, sticky days when I’m out and about.
One of the reasons that I think this is best for warm days, is the fact that it doesn’t project well. This is a fragrance that I smell as I’m wearing it for a few hours, but then I kind of have to sniff myself. I think it would probably be best to layer this one with the Bum Bum cream if you want people around you to smell it more.
Although it doesn’t project well, the scent does last a good 6-8 hours on my skin.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with this purchase! I do wish that it projected just a little more, but to get past that I will spray my clothes. The scent is so gorgeous and yummy that I think it will be a big favorite for me this summer!
