Fragrance Friday #3 | Tom Ford Lost Cherry (and a dupe???)

Tom Ford Lost Cherry is one of my newest fragrance purchases and is my most expensive fragrance purchase (by far)! This Fragrance Friday will be slightly different from the others because not only will I give you a brief review of the fragrance, but I will also discuss an alternative that is at a much lower price point.

Tom Ford Lost Cherry EDP

So first let’s talk about Lost Cherry. Tom Ford lists the notes for this fragrance as black cherry accord, bitter almond, griotte sirup Scenttek, rose absolute Orpur, Peru balsam, and roasted tonka Orpur. I have to say that I am in love with this fragrance! At the open, I smell a burst of cherry, but when it dries down, I smell that sweet almond scent. I’ve seen reviews that say that this fragrance lacks longevity and I halfway agree, but not wholly. On me, the cherry scent only lingers for 1-2 hours, but after that, the almond takes over and lasts a good 5 hours on me. Cherry and almond may seem a little basic, but Lost Cherry is done in such a way that smells more complex and interesting than it may seem. I do wish that this lasted 8+ hours on me (due to the price), but I have to say, I enjoy reapplying this to get that initial cherry goodness.

As for the bottle, I don’t even really feel the need to gush about how gorgeous it is! The red bottle mixed with the rose gold-ish trim is amazing!

Lolita Lempicka Sweet EDP

Lolita Lempicka Sweet drew my interest when I saw it compared to Tom Ford Lost Cherry. The notes for Sweet are listed as cherry, sugar, cacao, and musk. I really like this fragrance as well, but I do not think it is an exact dupe. They definitely smell similar at first spray, but I think the cherry note in Sweet smells a bit more artificial. If I had never smelled Lost Cherry, I probably wouldn’t think it smelled cheap, but here we are… Sweet smells like sweet cherries and vanilla on me. The cherry scent lingers throughout the wear. I don’t feel like the fragrance changes at all on me. For some of you, that may be preferable. On me, this fragrance lasts about 5 hours.

As for the bottle, I like it, but I do think it looks a little quirky. I also don’t really like the sprayer because it is a little harder to push due to the shape. Those things are definitely not a big deal, because the liquid inside is what’s most important.

So which fragrance do I prefer????

Lost Cherry is the one for me! I love the complexity of the fragrance and I love the almond undertone. I do really like Sweet as well and think it is a great fragrance if you would like something that smells like cherry and don’t want to spend a lot of money on that. I also found that layering Sweet with Geneva Chocolate by Layered (promo code AYESHA15 to get 15% off) gives a more similar vibe to Tom Ford Lost Cherry.

Do you own one or both of these? Which one sounds more appealing to you?
