Facial exfoliating products are one of those items in my skin care routine that I change up on a pretty regular basis. I’m always on the hunt for the perfect one. Some tend to be too harsh, while others seem like they don’t do anything for my skin. For that reason (plus the super cute packaging), when Buff Her House of Exfoliation contacted me about trying out one of their products, I jumped at the opportunity. Buff Her specializes in exfoliators made from naturally, organically grown, fruits and vegetables. The one that I was sent, Milk & Honey only has 5 ingredients [Whole Dry (Milk) Powder, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Powder, (Honey) Maltodextrin, Honey Powder]! Although I was sent this product for review, I hope you all know that I always give my honest opinion! Check out my disclosure for more information. If you would like to find out my thoughts on the Milk & Honey Exfoliator, keep reading!
Buff Her currently has 8 different exfoliators available and they all are in the powder form. Each one is made for different skin types. The one that I received was the Milk & Honey for dry skin. This was my first powder exfoliator, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Per the directions, the powder can either be mixed with a little water or mixed in with a cleanser or cleansing oil and then rubbed all over the face. I tried all 3 ways and my favorite way to use was to pour a quarter sized amount into my hand and mix with water. It may sound a little messy, but it really wasn’t. I didn’t really like mixing it with my cleanser, because I typically use cleanser around my eyes and didn’t want any of the exfoliator getting into my eyes.
I was actually pleasantly surprised that this product worked so well! I was a little leery of it because I’ve never tried a powder exfoliating product before and wasn’t sure how I would like it. I’m so glad that I decided to try it because it left my skin feeling so soft. The powder is pretty finely milled, but not so much that you can’t feel it on your face. On my skin, it exfoliated enough to make my skin baby soft, but didn’t leave behind any redness or irritation like I’ve experienced with some other exfoliating products. It also didn’t leave my skin feeling tight and dry like most other exfoliators that I’ve tried. I’ve had this product for about 3 weeks and have used it at least twice a week every week.
Overall, I think the Buff Her exfoliators are really innovative and work really well! To top it off, they are super cute and are naturally derived. After trying Milk & Honey, I already have my eye on another one, Apple Granola made for all skin types.
- Natural product with only 5 ingredients
- Leaves my skin baby soft
- Easy to use
- Innovative product
- Doesn’t dry my skin out
- A little on the expensive side, but each $35 bottle gives 200 uses (about $0.17 per use), so not really a con for me
- Sometimes the sifter doesn’t let out enough product
Buff Her Milk & Honey can be purchased from www.buffher.com for $35.
