A few posts back, I posted some swatches of some new MAC purchases. One of those purchases was the new Viva Glam Nicki 2 lipstick. (Click HERE to see that post). This shade is probably one of the hardest to wear shades I own. Because I knew it would be a popular item, I decided to try it even though it is not the type of shade I typically go for. It is a very pale lavender that leans closer to white than purple. For all of the MAC Viva Glam products, 100% of the proceeds go to MAC’s AIDS foundation so I felt like it was worthy of my money. Keep reading to see a few ways to make this shade more wearable.

In the picture above, I am simply wearing the lipstick alone so that you can get a clear picture of how it looks. I personally, would never wear it like this. Almost any lipstick can be customized to better suit any skin tone by using lip liners, glosses, or even other lipsticks.
Look #1: Lipstick + NYX Purple Rain Lip Liner

By simply pairing this lipstick with a purple liner, it already makes it more wearable. It is still very ‘out there’ but could be fun for a night out.
Look #2: Lipstick over Palladio Raisin Lip Liner

This is actually my favorite look of the 3. The dark lipliner gives Nicki 2 a deeper shade of purple that I think is better suited for my skin tone.
Look #3: Lipstick + Maybelline Raspberry Reflections Gloss

If you’re not a fan of liners, topping this lipstick with a gloss can also alter the look. In the last look I used Maybelline Raspberry Reflections gloss (for review, click HERE). By using a darker gloss, it gave the lipstick more color.
MAC’s Viva Glam Nicki 2 is a fun lipstick to play around with. It’s not a must-have color, but it can be used to change up the look of some lip products that may already be in your collection. I definitely don’t regret getting this lipstick because in addition to it being fun and totally out of my comfort zone, the proceeds help out an awesome cause!
What do you think of MAC Viva Glam Nicki 2? Would you rock it? How?
Actually i didnt buy it because i could not neccesarily wear it alone and i didnt like that white look it gave off,i learned my lesson with the nude lady gaga lipgloss and lipstick. Now, i do like trying new stuff so i bought the lip gloss which i could put over my purples and give back through a purchase.
I know what you mean about the white look. I think the gloss will be a little easier to pull off. I didn’t get the gloss because I have one very similar to it.
