I know ya’ll thought that I forgot about this series, but I didn’t! Truth is I was delaying my next review because I was supposed to review Kinky Kurly Knot Today, but I’m considering taking it off my Staple List. I decided to skip it for now and I will probably review it when I review Kinky Curly Curling Custard because I always use them together anyway. Instead, today I will be reviewing Donna Marie Dream Curling Creme, one of my favorite styling products. This product is a light hold creamy product that can be used for wash and goes, twist-outs, etc. I use this for almost all of my wash and goes. This styler retails for $18 for 16 ounces of product. It can be purchased in at www.shopdonnamarie.com, www.aveyou.com, and select other retailers.
Key Ingredients: aloe infused with extracts of rosemary, horsetail, and hibisucs, vegetable glycerin, sweet almond oil
Product Texture/Consistency: light but creamy, almost has a whipped texture
Product Claims: to give extra hold and definition while leaving hair moisturized for days
How the Product Measures up to the Claims: This product gives my hair very light hold but it does provide definition. I’m not sure that this product moisturizes my hair because I never use it without a leave-in conditioner, but it definitely doesn’t dry my hair out.
How I Use This Product: I actually have a YouTube video that shows how I use this product (click here to view).
- provides soft hold
- “plays well” with other products
- light and creamy texture that makes it easy to apply
- delicious cake icing smell
- a little product goes a long way
- defines my hair without making it too defined
- can be used on dry hair
- I can only purchase online
- I have to use with a small amount of gel to get multiple day hair (not really a con to me, but may be to others)
Have you tried Donna Marie Dream Curling Creme? If so, what are your thoughts on it and how do you use it?
